i got so bored opn my day off at the weekend i thought i'ld see how low i could have my car and still keep it driveable...just!
how low has everyone managed to get there cars, and on what sized wheels?
to set the standard mines about 100mm on 15's
bit of a pointless topic, but i'm bored and its too dark and cold to go see if i can lower it anymore, but hey i got to leave myself something to do at the weeknd

well im at -80mm and i can barely drive that about!
smashed my front splitter on a speedbump and caught my exhaust centre box umpteen times even when driving on a slightly bumpy road!
want to go lower but i fear for my safety lol.
still it does look nice that extra bit lower, just a tad impractical

It looks so good when it's seriously low... At -60mm I scrape just about every bump there is... Next time I'll be going -80mm just to satisfy myself altho it will be seriously impractical... Guess some people never learn but you gotta do what you gotta do

I've caught my splitter a few times and even cracked it (as you probably saw) and I'm only down about 50mm

i never seem to catch my splitter on anything...the only bit i have problems with is my wish bones and fuel tanks...they hit the ground all the time...and i really don't like the idea of my fuel tank skimming speed bumps

.....but oh welll, the price for having it low, i hardly drive it does it doesnt really matter

As you can C from the pics, when I got the car it was sooo low, I kept whacking the undercarriage even on the motorway back to london from shropshire, thats how low the dub was (then again, I was hitting 125mph time to time

)
Think it was about 115mm on 185/55/14s. Unfortunately due to the craters and land mines called potholes in central London i've had to raise it to 110mm but also put 195/55/15s on. Luv having a low ride whichs a shame everytime I look at it now cos its raised the extra inch with the bigger rims. It's still too low and keeps scrapping humps, hwever, a bigger dilemma i've got now is that the rims hit the arches cos there ain't no room. Can't even get full lock without munching the tyres off, they're practicly bald now
So now i'm gone get the arches rolled off n try 195/45/15s to C what happens but i'm definetly not raising it anymore or theres no point in having coilovers

I'm not suprised them rub! When I got my 16v somebody had put 195/50 R14 tyres on and they even rubbed occasionally at standard height! I'm on 195/45/15s now at standard height. You can definately feel the grip/ bumps more now.
