I have a '00 polo GTI.

In the 9 or so months ive had it the brakes squeak sometimes. I mentioned this when it went in for service, and they took a look and said that the brakes needed 'de-glazing', which they did. Problem is, the squeak is worse.....any ideas????

Hi - a couple of months after purchasing my used 6n 2000 registered (1.4 75bhp) I had real problems with squeaky brakes which became progressively worse. After numerous trips to the dealership, and a couple of 'de-glazing' episodes, the squeaks were still there and getting worse again, so in the end they replaced the rear brake discs under warranty. This cured the problem instantly. Whilst I was having the problems they tried to suggest that the squeaking was normal (!!) and that there wan't a problem. You may need to do more than de-glaze.
