F*CKING CARS!!!!!!

Got my gearbox delivered from cleckheaton and was a tad concerned. The invoice front said the right address but the name on it was 'Ted'. I thought the geezer might have misheard my name somehow even though its James and that doesnt sound a bit like Ted!!

Anyways i limped the car to my mates garage in third gear and dropped it off along with the gearbox. Geezer from the garage rang me this morning and told me the gearbox was wrong and it was for a Fiat!!!!

Its most likely not the fault of cleckheaton and more likely that the geezers sorting out the deliveries got 2 orders mixed up!

So my car is sitting in my mates garage with no wheels or suspension on and im gonna have to wait til sometime tomorrow for the 'box to be delivered to the garage and fitted!!

On the plus side im getting a new clutch, labour for putting in the clutch and gearbox and an oil change all for £250!! bargain!

I just hope its ready by tomorrow afternoon, dnt want to have to cancel my slot at the body shop!!

hehe yeah cheers m8! im crossing every available appendage! i just want it to be over, to have the right gearbox, for it all to be hunky dorey and for the bumper and skirts to be fitted and sprayed and looking the sex!!

I'm sure once its all done next friday ill post some pics to show her off!! thats if something else doesnt happen in the mean time..............

What you doing with your original bumpers mate?

I'm keeping the back bumper as i like the 16v one, its nice and low and smooth. The front bumper has a few dents and dings and ive got one 'spider-web' kind of crack in it which i unfortunately made worse by scraping my fence as i reversed!! so its now an orangey spider web on a black bumper!

I hadnt planned on selling it or anything but i guess if anyone wants to smooth it over or anything i'm open for offers......

Got the old girl back 2day! shes purring like never before.........new gearbox seems to have unleashed a bit of power somehow?? anyways the new clutch is really nice, much more fluid motion than before and you dnt need the leg of a bodybuilder to depress it! its crazily light now! Oh happy days!

Got my car back for the weekend then it goes in to the bodyshop monday and i dnt have it again for 5 days!!

Oh well at least it all got sorted!

Yeah £250 is insanely cheap. It was going to be just £200 but coz i had the wrong gearbox delivered it took an extra day so i had to make it up to the mechanic who lost a days work!!

My m8 sorted me out big time, i owe him a good few pints! it was all done via cash so it woz a bit of a backhander, not through the books style!
I'm happy with that tho, the mechanic gets his money, i get the job done a lot cheaper and that tw*t gordon brown doesnt get a penny of my money!
