Dear all,

I have bought suspension on eBay for my MK3 hatchback)and a friend started to repair the car for me today (he has the spring compressor to change the shock absorbers).
Therefore he told me the springs are not the right ones.
I've checked on all the web sites and they all look the same.

My question is:

Does any of you guys have a photo of the original shock absorbers of a mk3 and photos of new shock absorbers that you have put on?

are you talking about the fronts or the rears?

are you aware that your replacenent front shocks maybe inserts and not complete units! this is how they should be. if this is the case, your current shock absorber will need to be stripped down, and the inserts fitted in!

That is the picture I needed.

The shop (tuningart.de) sent me the wrong ones

I just checked the ref on the box and it isn't the same one as on the invoice.

Anyway I managed to buy new shock absorbers for the front and it's ok now!

I just hope this german guy is gonna pay me the other ones back.

I'll upload a photo of the shock absorbers later on to see if any of you could recognise to what type of car they belong so I could eventually flog them off on eBay
