Sorry to hi-jack the thread but does anyone have pictures of a GTI with mudflaps. I really want them to try and stop all the tar and crap sticking to my sills/rear bumper but don't know if it will ruin the look of the car

To be honest I think it makes no difference to the 'look' but does help cut down on the amount of crap up the side of the car.

Rear mud flaps in my opinion actually improve the look of the GTi. As viewing the car from the rear more of the rear tyres are hidden, therefore the appearance car being even lower.

Looks better with them off but not too bad with them on. I usually spend around an extra 30mins getting tar off from the arches, sills and bumpers. Tar remover is quicker yes but no use when the car has polish/wax/sealant on it

Hmmmm I have a set of mudflaps with that part number but they don't fit on my Gti....The screw holes on the mudflaps don't match the holes pre drilled in the arches....

Did you screw into the arches then or just fit them with only 1 screw attached?

theyre not fitted but i dont have arch liners in and from what ive seen i have enough holes to cope with them
why not ring vw and ask ?

Your supposed to create new holes with the self taping screws included. Its all in the instructions.
