This may have been posted before, but will it work with the 2002 Polo 1.4s I'm about to buy?

As far as I know, the car has key-operated c/locking only. I was in a mate's the other day and it does have key operated total closure.

So, how would I go about integratingn this remote keyfob into the current c/locking? Also, is an alarm standard, and if not, how does this all tie in together?

sadly this is a diffucult, although much covered topic. There is a posability that you can replace the comfort unit with one that supports remote central locking, and then go through the steps with a vag com of calibrating the key and imobiliser to the car. The car (if it is like mine) is shipped with a scaled down comfort unit that will not support the remote feature and has no alarm.

The way i fixed this problem was to wire in my own remote central locking kit, but i didnt want a naff looking keyfob so i got it from the very nice chap at right click rclick.co.uk

The system works a treat, and i broke open my old keys and put the transponder chips in the new ones! can't say fairer than £25 with 2 keys! (if you make an order the key number is RU66)

This system is pretty cool, and for example has a "find me" function so if the car is locked in a car park, and you want to find it, pressing on the lock button whilst the car is locked will flash th lights 3 times to show you location without letting anyone in the car!

The range is also great, especially if you order some good duracels for the remote when it arrives.

If you wish to go down the replacement comfort unit route there is some information in the electrical section of the forum (part numbers are given, but not how to install them) then let me know if you are successful as i would be really interested.
