Right,
I have to change the brake pads on my 1.3 Polo and i could use some advice.
Since you dont want to be cheap with your breaks i was thinking of getting
Brembo Max 239x
12mm disk and Ferodo Premier Pads.
or
ATE PowerDisc 239x
18mm with Greenstuff brake pads.
I know i dont drive a formula 1 car, but i still like to have some breaking power.
About the Brembo i'm not sure the 12mm will work. I've also found the 18mm disk, but are they really that different?!
What do you reckon?
Opinions welcome.

hey, from what i've heard, grenstuff pads are rubbish! leave a lot of dust and dont really break very well!

well firstly you need to find out whether you've got 12mm or 18mm discs.
Greenstuff pads have something of a reputation for brake dust.
I can't make out from the picture if the ferrodo pads are ds2500 or not, but a lot of people reckon they are too agressive for the road (i.e you need to get them warmed up before they work properly).
Having not used any of these I can't really comment, it's just what I've heard....

I'm drivin' EBC Greenstuff's with Zimmermann 239x18 drilled discs at the moment, which brakes like an idiot!
But be sure to check wether you already have 239x10 or 239x18 discs fitted, since 239x19 discs don't fit in 239x10 calipers and vice versa, would be sh!tty to be buying 239x18 discs and then discover that the don't fit your 239x10 calipers
EDIT: discovering which discs your driving now is easy, 239x10 is a massive discs and 239x18 is a vented disc (looks like to discs on eachother with "air" in between), also of course you can measure the thickness of the discs to figure this out

I had the pagid fast road pads on my mkiv and can recommend them, although it was a 16v so the brakes were bigger.....

Right,
I've decided to go with the ATE 239x18mm disks (will fit, i've checked) and the Ferodo Premier Pads.
Thanks for the input.
I'll let you know how it brakes with this setup!
