I'll be having one of these please!
Volkswagen has revealed details of a 650bhp mid-engined Golf GTi design study.
Called the GTi W12-650 (you can see what they've done there), it uses a bi-turbo W12 engine producing 553lb ft torque through the rear wheels.
This, according to VW, means 0-62mph in just 3.7secs and a top speed of 184mph.

That is seriously ugly !
Think about what it would cost as a production model £40-50k???, and then tell me you would chose that over something like a Porsche Cayman S or similar...................

I'd take it in a second, partly cos its a golf & mostly because you wouldnt get anything near as fast for your money, you would be thrashing evo x's in that

If somehow Volkswagen could manage to build something with that level of engineering for £40-50k, not only would I be hugely amazed, I would also take one in a second over a Cayman S.
However I think, alas, it's relatively safe to say they'll never build a production model and it'll just remain a rather impressive show car.

I like big butts and I cannot lie...
That thing is a monster!
Looking at the video, I think it may have been unveiled at Wörthersee.
I'd love to see a production model, but I can't see it happening.
