HOW MANY GTi's......?

Does anyone know how many 6n2 GTi's where made in the UK?
Just out of interest?

None. They were all made in Spain.
As for how many were sold, people have mentioned the figure of 3000, but I've personally never seen that number verified.

It's also said there were 1000 reds (500 3dr 500 5dr), 1000 blacks (500 3dr 500 5dr) and 1000 silvers (500 3dr 500 5dr), though that's not official either

I'd have thought with the GTi being relatively expensive for what it was, it would have more been built to order rather than specifically importing set numbers of each one.
I've seen the 3000 used in relation to the number of Mk4 6N GTi's that were sold on the continent, which is what makes me mildly dubious about there being 3000 6N2 GTis in the UK.

Club Lupo have an official number of Lupo GTI's. Just under 1000 produced in 4/5 years making it even rarer than the GTI. Could contact VW and find out exactly how many 6N2 GTI's were specified for the uk market

I think mine was made in Bratislava, there is a site somewhere that decodes your VIN number.
