Tyre problems :(

Tried to check my tyre pressures this morning only to find that the apparently "high quality" aluminimum caps have seized themselves to the valves.
Has this happened to anyone before??? If so what did you do??
I think the only solution is to have all the valves ripped out and replaced. This also means the tyres need to be removed....
Anyone got any idea how much this would cost?
cheers

I've had this happen before to one of my valve caps.
Fixed it by using a small hacksaw blade to cut down carefully through the valve cap, and then just peel it open. You need to be fairly accurate to avoid messing up the valve thread, but then if you think the only option is to replace them, then there isn't much to lose!

Cheers Redline, its all about cost really - any idea how much it would cost to revalve 4 wheels?

As a rough estimate I'd say somewhere in the region of around £20-30, be very surprised if it came to more than that.
All you're really paying for is the labour of having the wheels taken off, tyres removed from the wheels, new valves put in, then all back together and on the car again. Valves themselves should cost next to nothing.

Hey, my fronts were leaking air so I got some of these
FLUSH FIT valves.
I got mine fitted free of charge 'cos I recently had new tyres fitted and told them to check the valves were ok first.
