Got my car back

Well got it back today and they are just waiting for the air con parts to arrive in a few weeks. All was well driving home until my oil light came on so I stopped, checked the engine bay but it was ok. Started it up and the light had gone. Noticed both my headlamps including my new one have condensation in them - not f*****g good!
Now I noticed a stray wire thats all bent out of shape that goes from the aftermarket alarm, to the bonnet catch and also to the bonnet release mechanism. The alarm is now beeping 4 times to say something is still open
Sometimes I feel like selling the car, just can't afford to fix all these problems and am sick of not knowing what to do with it

Glad to here the beasts back
Sorry to hear about your wee niggly bits thats still wrong with it
Hope you sort them out.
And the wire from the alarm, try tracing it back to alarm box and see if its damaged anywhere causing a short circuit.
Or check bonnet switch, it may be damaged and nneding changed.
There pennies to replace
I know how you feel when you go on about selling it
I felt like that with my polo when gearbox went second time with other things etc etc.
But wish i just fixed it now

Don't sell it!! I had problems with my polo but my dad convinced me not to sell it, he said all old cars have problems but once they sorted you love it again and guess what I do.
Finger crossed that your gearbox doesn't go

Ok after tonight I've really had it, the car is just a money pit! My other Xenon has packed in as a result of the condensation. And to add insult to injury, I had to leave it at my mates and walk home as there was smoking getting into the cabin and leaking underneath the bonnet. I s**t myself as I thought the car had caught fire
Earlier on the coolant level was halfway between minimum and empty so topped it up. After the smoke in the engine bay I noticed it had fallen again and it was all damp around the bottle.
I really don't know what to do as I ain't got a clue what's wrong, all I know is it will cost a lot of money. £1500 for accident repairs, now probably £200 to get it looked at again, £200 for a new headlamp, £300 to rip out the stupid aftermarket alarm and reinstate the old one - it's money I don't have yet the car is practically undriveable just now unless its fixed!

MONEY PIT ! ! !
I KNOW THE FEELING....
Check the fluid levels (oil/water)and check for leaks around hoses and flanges etc etc.
And check for drips on driveway etc, to try and trace back...
If its a wee hairline crack in a water pipe/thermostat flange it probably wont leak visibly without engine on to pressure up system (Thats what i had to do when my thermostat flange was leaking) Its a bit of a f****r to get to aswell its on side of block

I think its on the side of block
..
As for the xenon, have you checked fuses ?
And all associated wiring behind the light (i know theres no space behind them ) but you may see something outta place.
Even switch lights on and wiggle the wires around to see if they come on, could be a bad connection somewhere.
Even last resort check the bulb (Although its a bumper off job )
A joke i know but space is so limited to get in and change them.
Plus has the garage been working beside the light thats failed ?
And could they have removed the headlight ?
To do work around that area ?
If so get onto them...
P.s i don't think the condensation in light lense caused it to fail, i may be wrong though.
The condensation may mean theres a clip missing that holds the lense to the lamp unit or the seal has been disturbed
Let me know how you get on...

Took the car back to the garage just now, driving 50 tops just to be on the safe side. They had to have moved the headlamps, plus they had gold washers underneath the bolts that weren't there before. They said the seals may of bust because of the impact but I doubt that. They will look at it anyway and reseal them.
Now it's daylight we could see there was a pipe at the bottom with a tiny leak pissing coolant all over the fan and stuff. They are gonna fix that too. Told them to check out my alarm too.
They only ran the bloody car for an hour afterwards, that ain't good enough really isn't it?
Also do any of you guys know of any silver box next to the fan?

Glad it getting fixed dude
And couldn't you have fixed that hose yourself, its easily accessible
Wheres the gold washers ?
Are the washer(s) in behind headlight mounting where retaining bolt goes through ?
If so why have the packed washer(s) in ?
To try and adjust headlight alignment ?
Not knowing you need Vag Com to adjust xenons...
And Headlight Seal Burst with impact ! ! !
Is it possible ?
I didn't think it would be...
Just watch if they are gonna try to reseal it, incase they just pile in silicone, tiger seal etc and make an arse of it....
AS FOR SILVER BOX NEXT TO FAN RINGS NO BELLS SORRY DUDE
Shame i never still had polo i could have checked
