Does anyone know of a short term insurance company that will cover modified cars? My boyfriend wants to be insured on my car so we can share the driving to Alton Towers and back this weekend, but the company I used when I test drove the car (unmodified) does not insure modified cars.

Can you not add him onto your policy as a named driver for the weekend. Not sure how much extra it would be, an example is my mate (24) was telling me the other day he asked to put his brother (21) on his as a named driver for a week and I think they quoted £9 for that

Of course I dont know if its different if you're using a specialist insurance company for mods. Also you may have an "admin fee"

Phone my insurance, was £15.75 for a week but was only £16 to put him on til the end of the policy in August so I just did that - means he can share the driving to Inters next week!

 - That turned out alright then!

I'm on as a named driver on my mrs's insurance, only because it brought it down a couple of hundred quid for the year  :D
