GTI top speed

Anyone know what the top speed is for the polo gti... either my car is really fast after the conversion or my speedomete need calibrated!

The standard top speed of the 6N2 GTI should be 128 mph with 125 bhp. 0 to 60 mph is in 8.1 sec!!

Mine as standard pushed about 135mph .... indicated speed ofcourse, probably about 115 really lol

I've had an indicated 130mph a couple of times and a TomTom indicated 121mph out of it

How wierd is this thread i was coming home to start the same one,
i had 130mph on my speedo today downhill with 3 people in the back.
i was going to ask if my speedo could be faulty

Think my speedo is out or my car must be faster than the standard gti
Hit 130 something... was a bit s**t scared too look down too much! lol, sure it went past 130 and i wasnt going downhill.
Car wasnt even red-lining yet so im assuming it may go faster yet?
Also did a rough 0-60 and its about 7-7.5, again must be my sppedo

I had a tomtom indicated 120, obviously that was on a private airfield...

it sounds like a common issue of a diff of around 8 mph from speedo to gps
obviously bigger wheels make a duiff also

my GPS is usually around 8mph out of the speedo aswell. Tis odd how it gets in accurate but oh well. I can get mine (1.0) up to 107 on the sat nav just before it redlines heheh
Says im doing 115 on the speedo

I take it everyones checking there max speeds on private airfields or race tracks??

No speedo will ever be 100% accurate.
