Hello.
My water pump is leaking on my mk2. I suppose I'll have to change it.
How gay.
It's one thing to another with this car.

17050 WATER PUMP-BQ PO 1.3 1/77 >10/90
Can anyone verify that this is the correct part number from GSF for an MH coded 1986 1.3 engine?

can't help with the part number for ya, but my advice would be to change the cambelt at the same time. that is if it hasn't been done in a while!
also, when you get the pump, check that it spins freely! i've been given a couple from vw and the impeller will not spin without some force!
i think if you were to get it from vw, they like to have your old one in exchange!

I'm not bothering with a VW one.
I'm not going to be using this car as a daily for much longer and I have two possible donnor engines for this, GT and G40, I just need a G40 wiring loom and a mk3 gearbox.

Nah, the headgasket has just gone, that was the cause of the water pump leaking and eventually failing.
My waterpump and heagasket are only 5,000 miles old, I am not a happy bunny.
For the third year running I've had a car booked on the UK-P stand at expo, for the third year running my car has died the day before, my friend chris will take my place with his eaton'd G40 as it did last year.

I dont understand how you have so many engine problems, Mine just takes so much abuse all the time and it just loves it...
Anyways first dibs on some parts when you tare ye old mk2 apart, mainly the gearbox/anti-roll bar/linkage...

Nah, with the headgasket, waterpump and timing belt done it shouldn't have any more problems.
It's just one of those things.
