I am also planing to do this, Just wonder how would i glue it back on, can i just use double sided tape, or will that be too weakSi_GTi wrote:Hi mate
The rear VW badge is simply glued on with adhesive. On a warm day you can simply go at it with your hands and just pull the blighter off, thats what I did!
I stuck mine on with trim repair tape from HalfordsTailor wrote:I am also planing to do this, Just wonder how would i glue it back on, can i just use double sided tape, or will that be too weak

Ive heard about the VHB Tapes.. but were could i get it from... will b&q have it?alexperkins wrote:you can use something called VHB tape which is excellent, or there is a double sided tape made by Vesa which is really good - ive used it to mount car badges in the past.
Thanks for that Alex.. Thers a sign shop on my high street will go and check it out tommorow.alexperkins wrote:Nope - a signmakers will have it or a body shop. Otherwise you can get it off the internet.
Anywhere that sells a good range of tapes should stock it but im not so sure about BandQ
Ahh mate ... my idea is to take the rubber off and spray the badge black, my cars blue and i was hoping without the rubber on the badge it would be much nice.... Ohh well will need to find a way of making the badge stronger or getting it to stick on properlyalexperkins wrote:I believe not. Ive got one on my desk at home - the rubber provides the area so you can stick it on. Without the rubber, the sign it very flimsy and isnt stickable
I will be starting that as soon as my frigin exams are over... at least i can put it on the list of things i plan to do... once i finish i`ll let u all kno for future referencealexperkins wrote:as long as it has an even, clean smooth and level back surface , it will stick perfectlySo theres something to start on
But the 9N's don't have the rubber surround (the plastic backing is about the same thicknesss) and they stick finealexperkins wrote:I believe not. Ive got one on my desk at home - the rubber provides the area so you can stick it on. Without the rubber, the sign it very flimsy and isnt stickable
