I was going to look at a silver gti tomorrow.. 38,750 on the clock full leather interior full service history HPI clear etc priced at £5,300
and I rang up today and its been sold.
There's only two other GTI's within 100 miles of me with leather and both have done 105,000 miles and 57,000 miles
so annoyed

I'm not surprised that was snapped up quite with such a low milage and leather! The 57000 one sounds promising though, mine has done 65000 now, was 57000 when I bought her!

Yeh, 57000 is just running in, there are plenty of GTI's on here over 100k. At the end of the day, I think a car is for driving - which is why I don't worry about putting lots of miles on mine.
Better than getting a car which has blatently been used for short journeys/shopping trips for 7 years.

It took me about 5 weeks to find mine, I was like you and wanted as low mileage as i could find.. but as your finding when they decent they go to first person who views them!
I got mine with 57k on the clock, as been said go for looked after!

I'd happily buy one with 57,000 on the clock, especially if it had leather

57K is still below the average mileage per year (10-12k), but I'd happily go for either as long as they seem in good nick... I got my GTi with 98k on the clock and have had no problems except the starter motor.
