Climatic/AC

Hi all, just bought myself a secondhand GTi! Very pleased with it, awesome car, especially as it's replacing a 1.0 yaris... Anyway, the GTi is an early model with AC but not climate control, does anyone know if its possible to simply swap the units located in the cabin (if I managed to source one from a wrecker) or is it, as I suspect, much more complicated than this...

...also I dont have a lockable fuel filler cap...and i guess it will be pretty much impossible to get one from VW to match my key...

Thanks for any advice you can offer,
Loving the dub,
Jack x!

The red ones ARE faster, it's true!...though the 'five-oh' like to play car snooker I heard when pulling people over: a red one, then a colour, then a red one, then a colour and so on and so forth....

jx!

the fuel fill caps are all non locking, the actual flap locks when you blip the central locking, although it is very feable!

Hiya - welcome to the red GTI club - great colour (not that I'm biased at all of course!)

The fuel filler cap does indeed have a locking flap cover, I wondered the first thing when I got mine and then tried to open it when the car was locked and realised!

With the con, I wouldn't have thought that it would be just a case of swapping the units but the best way to find out would probably be to just give vw a ring.
