Has anyone had it done here? Also how much did it cost them?

I've never heard of a Polo GTI needing the head gasket done before, factorying in you would be better to change the timing belt/tensioners and water pump when the heads off I would have thought you would be looking at around £500.

This is the first head gasket change i've heard of for a polo gti. How many miles has the car done?

I'm not saying it needs doing, but the car's now done 70000 miles and thinking whether to be on the safe side and get it changed

I wouldn't. Id only change it if it needs doing. Are there any signs of water in your oil? 70,000 miles is nothing for a head gasket on a VW.

I just get very paranoid about little things.. Although the money would mean I can mod the car
