They used to be all the rage a few years back in the modified scene. Haven't seen one in a GTi though, or if I have I don't remember.

Not my cup of tea but it would be a nice touch I guess. How will it affect access to the rear seats though?

Cheers

I think I've seen at least one in a GTi. Can't remember when or where though.

All depends on the look you're going for with the car really. With the rear seats out, could look quite good.

Personally not a fan of them...they can look cool but add weight

only look good if you strip the rear, cannot stand cars with cages an rear seats!

thers a 1.4 16v 6n2 in the lasted fastcar with a 10 point roll cage, its not quite your 'just for show' type but it'll give you an idea,. he's stripped the back out. my personnal opinion on them is tha there awkward heavy and like alot of people say, just for rally cars! the cars worth a look tho, i want his breaks!!!!

I think the type Neildo is talking about is the polished alloy type that only sits in the back seat. It's tubular and about 4" diameter, looks good but offers no protection whatsoever. Pure boy racer!

The other type is the solid metal bars (rallye style). They are the functional ones, often referred to as 10 point, 20point roll cage etc, normally fitted to rally cars.

I think it would look great, some leather bucket seats, polished show cage, false floor withe a subtle sub in the middle.....perfect :)
