middle console/speed sensor

Does anyone know how to detach the middle console in the dash in a 9N
I'm going to install the dvd-navigation,that's why

and anyone have a clew as to where I can find the speedcensor,because that will need to be connected to the navigation aswel I presume.. Haven't looked at the specifics yet

Sorry Bart, can't help with the dash

but the speed sensor - the existing stereo already get's a feed from this - see if it says anything on the back of the stereo as to which wire it is.

Surely the navi system will have its gps sensor and will get speed from that? It does with my pocket pc with tomtom antway.

I can't help with that, but I would like to know something: wich dvd-navigation are you installing? the VW one?

AFAIK, the Nav system needs the Gala signal, the GPS signal and the reverse driving signal to function optimally. I guess two out of three ain't bad, but I'd get all three.
