Hello, First post!

Ive just ordered the following:
Genesis Profile 2 Amp

So..... Going about installing this, i have no idea really where to start.

Wanted to put the amp under the passenger seat but the floor is higher under the seat so theres not enough clearence between it and the bottom of the seat. Its a 3 Door and I saw in this thread http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/vbb/showthre ... light=polo that the amps can be put where the back doors would be, or I suppose it would hang from either side of the boot vertically?

I was reading on UK-Polos and someone said the OEM speakers are riveted on!!! So I need to drill them out? How do I screw in the speaker adapters?!?!

So any hints and tips about running cable through the car, taking the door panels off, the a pilars to pieces and mounting the amp/HU would be really really appreciated!

running the cables is pretty easy, the door sills just pull off so you can run cables under there as for the speakers, just drill the rivets out and simply screw the adaptors on, drill new holes,abit smaller than the screws you will use and screw the adaptors on, personaly i wouldnt change th door speakers because they are awesome, better than any speakers yu can buy in halfords

you'll usually find OEM door speakers are good because they are high sensitivity so they are designed to go hand in hand with the VW headunits. a low voltage signal produces more bass than the normal speakers you'll get in Halfords.

when you change speakers you need to amp them to get the best benefit - so the Genesis amp should really do this well.

personally I'd go for just a 10" sub or a 8" in the boot to lift the bass, as the sound quality is quite good in the cars with the gamma HUs.

I went for the SPL speakers as IVe read reviews that they are quite bassy but tight and well defined so im hoping I wont need a sub.

TBH it sounds good now that ive fitted the HU, speakers and amp and being done on Friday.
