What to do with the breather filter?

Post by Mouse_GTI »

In a minor attempt to tidy up my engine bay I plan on replacing my crap rubber base breather filter, which cracked and is currently held together with a bit of pipe from B&Q. I was thinking of getting an alloy base one (http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/ ... =P/CC9025B) but it's quite expensive for what it is. If I'm gonna spend that much I could get a nice looking catch tank off ebay (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/STAINLESS-STEEL-O ... 0139847584) but then is there room in the bloody engine bay

Decisions decisions

Trying to get the alloy base one. Demon Tweeks is an absolute rip-off. The price comes to around £30 including VAT and delivery. Other websites are about £7 delivery! Anywhere I get one cheap?

another cheapest option, is cable tie the top of the disconected breather hose down around the height of your inlet, which the air stream then picks up the vapour and you dont get the smell of oil in the car as if you had left it up the top of the engine bay. works a treat in mines so far.

It's the rubber base pipercross one I got now. I'm gonna have to move the breather tube anyway as it's resting against my strut brace and starting to melt
