So who drives round with their lights on in the day?

I must admit I do, mainly for the blue lights! But also so I have a better chance of being seen.

Because I have a (dirty) black car, and what with these foggy, muggy winter days, I feel obliged, for the safety of my fellow road users to drive about with my sidelights on.
Sod that! Purty blue lights!!

I seem to use my lights more than most people for two reasons - so i can see the spedo. and so i can be seen.
My dad has running lights on his scooby which he likes.
Interestingly, when I lived in Canada they all have DRL but not in the way we have (e.g. Volvos).
When you release the handbrake the dipped lights (only) came on.
This seemed really sensible as the brake lights etc. are more easily seen if the tail lights aren't on.
Something like this would be a good idea in this country as the number of people i see on m-way in heavy rain with no lights is unbelivable.

Yep, I totally agree with you.
The old bill should stop nicking people for doing 75 in a 70, and start nicking people who drive round in poor visibility with no lights on - far too many people do this and it is so easy to not see them right until the last moment.
