Hi

Fitted my subs and amp into the car on sunday but i have a wee problem, with the standard vw stereo/changer sounds perfect when car is not running but as soon as u switch the engine on u can hear the engine through the subs but when i fitted an aftermarket HU it was ok there was no noise of the engine it was perfect!!

Help needed

Where have you grounded the subs to? And how are they wired - preamp or line out?

The sub is grounded to the rear seat belt anchorage point and the phono leads are wired to the rear speakers.

When we put in a Alpine HU the noise wasnt there so does it have something to do with the standard vw HU

You should use the special preamp output from the radio - that will stop the noise problems.

The ground point should be ok there, but just ensure theres no other ground s connected to that. There is another behind where the boot light is if thats any use to you in case you need a different point, or even onto the spare wheel well.

The cable for the radio to do the preouts is this one:

Or if you prefer a proper line out sub only one:

I'd say yes, it's the same as this one by the looks of it http://caraudiosecurity.com/shop/produc ... /4178.html

It will - I used it in mine when I was using the GAMMA hu, before I upgraded it to a fully blown blaupunkt one (theyre the same make!)
