Running components wires...

Hello
Got some new components, want to have them amped up.
How do i go about running the wire from the door to the inside of the car. The exisiting wiring is in like a tube - so how would i go about getting the new wires from the component to the inside of the car so i can run the wire to the boot ?
Anyone ele done it ?

Yo Neil,
From the door to the inside of the car has to be done through the multipin (but theres no free space in a GTI, so youll have to chomp the speaker wires onthe car side and then amp it from there.
When I did mine, I put new wiring through an empty square in the multipin block that connects to the door, but this was only becuase I dont have CL or leccy windows.

Yeah the multipin did look rather full up
So what i do is (Inside the car) find the wire thats for the speaker and cut it , then solder on the new piece of wire and run it to the boot. Then if i sell the car, solder the wire back together from headunit > door for a standard setup.
Seems a bit ockward, as the wire from the amp to the speaker will be that thick oxygen free stuff !!

Yip thats what you'll have to do i'm afraid, and to be very honest you will not notice the difference with the wire being smaller,

i ripped out the dash and drilled a hole for the wire behind the tubing and run the wire through the tubing and then pireced it through and into the hole in the body then to the amp i thought it was gonna look s''t but you cant see it so its all good. i have put gromets into the holes if any1 picks that up

You could always just install another seal - i had to on my rear doors. Basically drill a new hole and just put a rubber hose (a proper one of course from a rear door) on it, and then the problem is solved

thats what i was strongly considering, but when i got mine done (with Saj) he used the loom. Your speakers wires shouldn't be any bigger than the average aftermarket speaker wires Neil? the Massive speaker cables are for subwoofer installs

f**k Drilling into the Body work, there could be no end of trouble if water gets to the hole, it will start to rust after a while! As said already, use the existing speaker wire already there, you will not notice the difference at all! And to be fair i only have my front Comps hooked up to my HU and they sound perfect, and only run the Sub of the amp.

I never actually drilled the back - the holes were already there....just gromitted off! It wouldnt rust anyway as the bodywork is galvanised, but yes the standard speaker wires should be fine!

Depending on the power of the speakers and if they're being amped of course
Mine would not have liked the standard wiring

drilling holes is fine if done right. i aint not cowboy everything is done properly and sealed so no rust will start.
