Does anyone know if the front and rear windscreens are coated in anyway??? athermancy or metal sintered is the terminology i think.

Getting a sat nav and apparently they are crap if your windows are coated??

Any help appreciated.

Anyone got a Navman icn 520??

I dont beleive ours are - I used to have a road angel, and that doesnt work if the windscreen is coated, and mine worked just fine.

Some have UV protection, but polos only have a minor green tint which is just part of the glass.

I've used both a Sony NAV-U50 and a TomTom One and neither had any trouble getting a good signal through the glass. On the Polo I don't think you will have an issue in all fairness. On something like a top-end Audi or a Maybach for example there may be issues depending on what glass is fitted? But not on a "lowly" Polo

Hmmm ok well i've bought it and find it hard to get a signal in built up Glasgow....

So if i buy and external aerial that magneticallt secures to the roof (I guess) ......where is the best exit point for the cable??

Hope that makes sense.
