Different car, still a respray.

Time for the bi-annual respray of my other car, i seem to spend more time spraying my cars then driving them!

Anyway, need help in picking a colour again. Its a mk1 golf clipper cabriolet. Was originally red, then went purple/gold flip paint. Now its blue/violet (subtle) flip paint. Not too happy with the finish so gonna change it again.

Thinking either r32 deep blue pearl or raven blue. Any other suggestions? There's a nice rover x power colour that is more or less black, but goes very dark purple in the sun, thinking of that.

Will post pics up later if anyone doesnt know what a mk1 cab looks like!

If blue is your colour then yeah, R32 deep blue, or Skyline bayside blue 8)

Out of your choices, I would choose the R32 DBP 8)

As it's a summery/cabriolet kind of car, I would suggest Audi Imola Yellow or a Mercedes/VW Champagne Silver colour.

If it was me, I would stick to an OE colour. No offense, but I don't think either of the previous resprays have particularly done justice to the car, nor does the front bumper.

Personally, I think there is nothing nicer than a mk1 Cab in red on a set of BBS RM's, as this Sportline shows. Yes it's nothing individual or groundbraking, but it just works, spot on.

Hate that front bumper, thats what it came with, now its sporting an oe clipper bumper (that cost a bomb!) and a standard tailgate. The previous owner very kindly removed the door handles, which again i hate, but it'll cost too much to put them back on (though i am looking into audi handles...) It also has no side strips, which i do like, but would prefer they were there.

Not too keen on red ones, i do like white or black ones though. The car was originally a horrible burgandy red colour.

It has polished estorils ready to go on...

what about a really metallic black? cant go wrong..will look very smart, although you have already resprayed your black gti so probably unlikely

Cant spray black, its the hardest colour to spray and i'm not ready for that yet! Decided to defo do the audi handles, getting fed up of being locked out the car!

I'm still a little dubious of r32 blue, am worried it'll make it look 'tacky' if you know what i mean. Not seen a mk1 in that colour so cant really visualize it.

I am quite keen on the champagne idea, might make it look classier. Audi do a nice colour on the a4 cabby.

I think the twin grille looks much better than the quad grille :)
