tesco charged me £120 to have my coilovers and a strut brace! it does depend who you are with! a few of the members on here are with a company called Brentacre, they are brill and know all about modifications and have very good desals for modified cars!

Endsleigh charcged me £240 for having BBS RA's, which wasn really worth telling em about. Didn' tell em about exhaust, lights etc so luckily didn get caught and got the £££ back after trashed it- the amount of a stock car.

But Sshhhhhh, my new insurance don't no a thing about my 16v 6n, think its totally standard. Not a good choice but cos of my personal situation I was getting quotes around £3000 or refused (even at 24yrs old). If I hinted mods they just say they can't insure me. A broker I personaly know did it through Hyperlink for £1580-nothing declared. Bad choice but have to.

Quinn direct = £0
6n lowered on alloys, all i had to do was fill out a engineers report form and get it stamped by an approved garage

What's it worth for me to keep schtum!!

Only joking fella, my insurance company don't know about everything on mine, but that's more because I can't be arsed. Insurance company want to know every time I fart, Insurance companies area joke. Take our money to keep us "insured", come to claim and they don't want to know.

They won't want to know if you havent declared mods because it's as good as not having insurance.

I know, last time i got away with it as they sent their solicitors to view the car and usually they ain't bothered; your buggered if the insurance company comes themselves.

Learning from experience I know I should but I already pay £1580 TFT although the accident wasn't my fault cos the claim was still being argued. Until its sorted, your to blame according to them so I lost my no claims when renewing.

Anyway it should be called 'incase sh*t'. i give my money iincase sh*t happens but if nothing happens, shouldn't I get my money back :?:
The world we live in!!! I drive just praying no tw*t buggers me up cos i;m stuffed for the moment with $$$

im with brentacre. easy enough to google, they offer discount for club polo, and are mainly dubbers that work there.

my renewal is coming up soon so should give you an idea.

last year i was 22, with 2 years ncb insured with my 20y/o girlfriend, a 1.6 polo fully comp covered up to 100bhp for about £550

should come down again in a month or so, and i've had an accident with 50/50 blame so thats bumps it up.

to put that into perspective for you, directline were offering me £540 and i was not allowed ANY mods till over 25. And brentacre will cover any mods up to a specified horsepower limit, so untill i hit 100bhp (and im sure i probably wont) i could fit any manner of suspension, carry out any body mods, any wheels etc with no increase in premium. oh and its an extra £100 per 25bhp :P

i know who i'll be going with this year :)

Just come move to Holland everyone, totally resprayed the mk4, strutbraces, coilovers, BBS GTI's, almost nothing is the same as it was originally, and it costed me nothing extra in insurance (our insurances don't work that way), I pay 220 euro per year for the mk4, that's about 145 pounds IN TOTAL! (and it's "legal" to mod your engine til +40% in power before you'll have to report it 8) )

(oh, and soft-drugs and prostitution are both legal too overhere)
