i'm looking into getting a 9n 1.9TDI sport and wondering what the remap's all about..

i'm presuming it adds more power but does it do anything else?

better fuelness?

cheers

Generally the more power you try eaking out of it, the worse fuel consumption I think.

My MPG stayed around the same. It will add more BHP and more importantly is the extra Torque!

can you not get it done to increase the MPG?

i don't need more bhp it's already 35ish more then my polo now.

not really any point in spending £200-£300 on 3mpg more.

10,000 miles is about £1000 in fuel, and 3mpg more probably a 5% saving = £50?

so it'd be at least 40k miles before you had any benefit.

the remap is all about better torque delivery. I've had 70mpg out of mine driving with fatter wheels and a remap, but I reckon on the whole a remap won't improve economy or you can't rely on it.

i've just got a new job and have to travel about 500 miles per week so though a remap would maybe help me out in the long run?
obv no so i'll have to think about it anyway.. lol

david burton i love your car 8)

it's same as the one i may be getting except looks that bit better

cheers

sounds good!

I recommend the remap though, makes the car more usable. you just can't guarantee better economy.

you'll get much better results by learning to drive economically. put it this way, my mpg to and from work (33miles each way) can vary from 40 (nailing it all the way), to an average of 52 (careful driving) all the way past 60 and 65mpg.

just look ahead at the other people and make sure you never have to brake, and turn the car off at long traffic lights 8)

i'm uber gutted.

i'm not looking for a car now till november when i have the money so i can buy one and not be dissapointed like this.

it was a 1.9TDI sport in silver and fully colour coded.
winter setup inside (heated leather seats)
and loads of other random stuff.

i'm gutted.

i'll have one before christmas though

then bring on the modding properly
