WARNING
This is a simple text + photo guide written by myself, to aid other members in the removal of the throttle body component.
I have written this guide as precise as i can, and mentioned any necassary safety procudures to under take (if any).
I take no responsibilty for any damage or injury caused to vehicles or person(s).
For the Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail Removal Rail, skip to the very bottom!
So lets begin!
1.
Firstly you need to remove the air cleaner housing.
>Undo the mouting screws located on the top of the air cleaner housing lid.
>The ones you need to undo have a number written next to them.
>Disconnect the air feed pipe were necassary.

2.
With the air cleaner housing and feed pipe(s) removed, you will now have a clear view of the throttle body.
Now you will need to detach the accelerator cable from the throttle valve lever.
This is very simple.
>At the throttle body, disconnect the accelerator cable inner from the throttle valve spindle.

>Now slide the cable from its holding position, and put it to one side.
( DO NOT remove the metal positon holder clip, as you will probably drop+loose it when you pull it off!)

3.
Now you have removed the accelerator, cable you can begin working on removing the throttle body.
>Disconnect the battery negative lead, and position it away from its terminal.
>Disconnect the wiring connectors from the throttle potentiometer and form the inlet manifold pressure/air temperature sensor
(check for damage to their conenctions ends of the sensors and renew if you feel necassary)

>Disconnect the hose for the charcoal canister from the port on the throttle body.
(Pull very hard!)

>Now slacken and remove the 4 bolts that hold the throttle body in place.
(NOTE that 1 of these bolts also secures the earth strap)
(Through bolt that secures the earth strap)

(You may need to use an extension on your allen key)

>Remove the throttle body, and recover the base gasket, or leave in place if you feel necassary.
(DO NOT loose the base gasket)
(DO NOT let things drop into the inlet manifold opening..cover up with a clean rag of some sort)

4.
Now you will be able to clean the throttle body how you wish.
Perhaps with carb cleaner and a clean cloth, although i just use a cloth
(Inside view of throttle body)

5.
Once you have cleaned the throttle body, Refitting is the reversal of removal.
It is a good time to have a quick clean up of the engine bay in these hard to reach places
(Secure all bolts and leads propely, replace any seals, gaskets or O-rings if you feel necassary)

If you wish to remove the Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail then you will need to carry on from step 4 in this guide, and carry on with my Fuel Injectors and Fuel Rail Removal guide.
