Thought this may be of interest for those who don't read Autocar magazine:
VW promises to beat indies
Volkswagen says servicing its cars at its dealers is cheaper than using independent garages. If VW owners can get a lower quote elsewhere, the company has promised to beat it.

So long as there's no strings it sounds pretty good to me.

Although maybe they should take that attitude where work is concerned, that's usually the killer - not the service itself.

I'm sure there was something saying that if only the independent garage use approved VW parts, they'd agree to match the price.

Still a good deal though :)

And the garage also has to use genuine VW parts, and do the job to a VW level of service.

Also, this match only runs till the end of december :P

Well said Phil. FVWSH means a car has probably been improperly serviced, knowing the rep of UK dealers. I'd use a specialist every time rather than the dealer, certainly in Aberdeen
