Looks like it's on its way out. Get the s**t plastic bearings replaced with decent metal ones

VW part numbers to the left, timkin in brackets. I found they were cheaper from the dealer than a bearing supplier. Ideally the plastic bearing could be taken to a bearing specialist and matched to a metal one, this may rectify one of the problems.
085 311 123 D x3 (timkin XC06536CD-JXC06536DC) 2xLayshaft, 1xMain Shaft - £14.30ea
311 405 625 F x1 (timkin XC10240CJ-XC10240DH) Mainshaft - £10.40ea
411 501 283 G x2 (no timkin numbers taken, sorry!) Diff Bearings- £14.30ea
085 311 431 C x1 (Crappy plastic bearing) 5th Gear Idler Bearing - £4.85
085 311 113 x1 Seal - £5.20
084 409 189 C x1 Diff Seal - £9.45
084 409 189 B x1 Diff Seal - £9.45
085 301 215 A x1 End Plate Gasket - £6.69
085 311 582 x1 Crappy Clip Thats Bound to Break, holds in selectors.

Can all the bearings and seals be changed at home, or do you need access to a press/puller?
