hello im new on here to! 15s will go no probs with a set of 165/50s so long as offset is close to std (et38) and you dont go any wider than 7j. forget about putting a 1.8 8v in, its highly expensive and awkward to fit. a mk4 16v unit would be easier and give similar power, other options include gt, g40, 1.6 8v out of mk4 polo. phill j of jackson tuning (has a page on clupolo.co.uk is the man for good buget suspension)

you will need a custom subframe for a start (salzman are one make, they are german and very expensive!), i think the brake servo has to be relocated too. if i were you i would sell the engine on and buy a new engine with the money you get for it. another thing to note is the engine is very heavy and would cause the polo to handle like a bag of s**t.
