went to price up an alram on saturday and was abit amazed at the price to pay to install a autowatch alarm and central locking in my 6n2 polo E.

the price he wants to charge is £260. thats for central locking and an alarm fitted.

he states that it costs £40 pair door to fit the central locking which i definately think is steep. just want to know your opinions.

Try having a look on ebay. Plenty of kits on there which you can get for cheap. Have you already got central locking but want to make it remote, or does it have none atall? The alarms which you can get on ebay are easy to fit yourself but probably not as effective as the ones youd get fitted by a professional.

Mine cost 30 quid and is awesome Maplins sell a thatcham approved one for £35

i saw that but it isnt approved if not fitted by a professional...
there is no central locking in place at all as when i had the door card off there was nothing but stoneage window mech...

i just think 260 for a none thatchem approved alarm is abit steep...
does anyone have any similar experiences???

by the way its an autowatch alarm...

Autowatch are good but i mean, you can do it all yourself for about 50 squid with a central locking kit and alarm - they wire together and work a treat

I did both of mine, and its definately an experience - takes alot of guts to rip your car apart and cut about 30 wires in the loom!

thats what im not really up for... plus i have to work and if i bugger the immobilizer then thats it lol... i would love to do it myself but im not good with electrics took me ages to find out what was wrong with my boot light (water damage). thanks for the advice though was very helpful...

i am looking for an alarm i have cenral locking so what do you sugest?
