Hi Everyone,

I am sure most of you must have some great ideas to replace the car stereo by yourself!!?? I need some help from you please.. My Alpine CD/ Radio is currently not working at all. I could not able to switch it on. Some one told me that it could be some problems with the head unit. Part of me thinking, if I am able to find exactly the same head unit from ebay, would it be able to work and back to normal??

here is the model of my Alpine CD player; CDM-9803R. If this is not helpful enough, I can upload some photos.

Another solution is replace the whole unit. Is it easy to replace the CD player by ourselves? I am looking for those one that I can plug in my iPod. PLease give me some advices...

Many thanks for your help, people :)

Kind regards,
Samuel

Check the fuses - ignition live fuse is a common one to blow :) Thats what id do before replacing it!

They are dead easy to replace, remove unplug, plug in put back in. Takes about 10 mins tops!

i blew my ignition live.. still not fixed it just wired it to the permanent live he he.... i would say check that first off before you send the cd player back...

you could try wiring a diff headunit in... or putting yours into a friends car....

Sorry guys, I am not sure where my ignition live fuse is... can u tell me abit more where that is please?

I mean my CD player was not working properly 2 weeks ago. Sometimes its not allow me to change different radio station while its playing. Sometimes unable to change it to CD mode while its on Radio mode. Now its totally broke down, unable to switch it back on at all. Do u guys still think its the fuse issue?

Cheers

It may be worth checking it anyway. I think its fuse 42, 16 or 26 :)
