Some part of my gearbox gave up coming home from donnington park, im not sure what actually went wrong with it, but my boss got it in at his local garage and they've said its pretty much un-repairable...

So whats my best bet?

A new one, a reconditioned one, a second hand one?

Please help, im not much of a god with the technical side of things

pretty much all vw gearboxs are 'made of paper mache' and fall apart in the end, especialy if you drive them hard, a new one will cost aroun £1,00,000,00 from vw so your best bet is to get a low mileage second hand one or a recon one, i paid £250 for a recon one, if thats anyhelp

Thats good to know, where did you get yours from if you dont mind me asking?
