The way girls are treated in Romania isn't really a light topic of conversation. I knew a romanian family in Spain, the girls over there have to keep themselves skinny and immaculate otherwise they are seen as dirty and useless. They also have to do absolutely everything their husbands/boyfriends say and if they go out at night without them they are instantly classed as whores. And if boys actually listen to their wives/girlfriends, stay in with them or dont go to whore houses with their friends when invited they are ridiculed by their male friends and told they are acting like their gfs dogs.
The papers are litterd with adverts for girls modelling abroad, and because their society is so geared to girls being successful in their looks they answer them. When they actually get overseas they are put into brothels and sold.
Obviously you get nice romanian men you cannot stereotype that kind of thing.
I know because I went out with a romanian guy and met his friends and family. And I lived with him his mum and sister for a while, he found being with me hard, he couldnt understand why I wanted to go out with my friends and even his mum told me i should stay at home with her because thats what i should do as a girlfriend. One on One things were great, but our ideologies and education were so different, in company we were awful. He used to tell me that girls in western europe did not look after themselves or respect themselves that they slept around too much and went out too much. This coming from a boy who slept with his female teacher at the age of 13 on a school trip, in the sea...and did not understand my shock when he told me.
Its fair enough picking your favouite girl. But reading this post just gave me a sickening feeling in my stomach. Because girls there, are in general terms, just rated on their looks, and how impressive they are to men.
