Hi All,

I have 2003 1.2 Polo, recently having problem with the dash light (blue back light) constantly being on, the light does this:

1. Constantly stays on when all doors are closed
2. goes off and then comes on when doors a open
3. stays off when key is in the ignition
4. stays off when you put the indiators on parking left or right (with keys out of ignition).
the dash light is always dimm unless you use the normal light switch.

Any advise?

This isn't great advice, but i had a very similar problem.

At first, it would just turn on and off intermittently, and sometimes with indicators etc...

After a couple of weeks, it just stopped completely.

UNFORTUNATELY, my only way of getting round this was taking it to VW.

Who charged something like £80 just to look at it, and i think it cost about £200 in the end to sort?

Sorry i can't give advice, but if this sounds like what you have, or it stops completely, i'd guess you should take it to VW.

I think I'm gonna wait till the weekend and check for any loose wiring or plugs, I believe its a bad earth somewhere?
