Just noticed on my car, i get a constant ticking coming from the engine?

It's consistant and reasonaly subtle

on my previous car i had something similar, which never got resolved(sold the car before i had it seen to), but the mechanic said it could have been carbonised spark plugs?

does anyone know what this is or if the above makes sense?

i have always had this on my polo....vw never ever commented on it so must be normal!

Mine does it too - i think its the fuel rail regulator lol its normal so im told!

it sucks i want it gone!! haha,

i'll see if my local can do anything bout it next time i'm down,

will let you know if i find anything out about it!!

no its definately coming from the engine

Sort of a tappety noise but not tappets if you know what I mean?

funny you should say that cos i had 'the tappets' adjusted on my old car when i had engine noise problems.

I dont have a clue what they are though? It may be them i'm not sure,

It will be the injectors, Nothing you can do about it! Tappets are full automatic so not them. injectors on any cars will make a noise, nothing can realy be done about it other than mabey cleaning them with redex???? Might quieten them down a bit but realistlcy wont make much of a diffrence.

ah thats a shame it's really bugging me now! Guess i'll have to put up with it

I was about to say injectors. Thats what I think they are aswell
