bah, first kerb mark!

aaaaargh, I hit my bloody alloy on a kerb tonight. I was in a rush and took my car park space too sharply and just caught it on the last 1/2 inch of kerb.
took it off when I got home, have filed and sanded the offending marks and about to repair it. but it's still bloody obvious. dag namit!
a whole year of nothing, and then this

I was being followed by the police the other night, was checking my mirror all the time, proper paranoid, for no reason. I clipped a kerb, checked my rims, luckily no marks. Still an immaculate set of 5

you can buy them if you like, lol. I've got another set to go on come summer, now I would cry if I kerbed those!

well I've taken it off in the rain and done all the filing and sanding, painted it where needed and lacquered. just put it back on in gale force wind.
problem is it's diamond cut. pah.
anyhow, much better than it was.

I'm always afraid of this when parking. No matter how confident you are parking up it can still always happen. I remember on my 6N I clipped three wheels on one day
Never done it on the 9N, always park atleast 10cm away from the curb and park slowly...may look like I can't park but who cares.

electric mirrors are always a good idea when reverse parkin, i always put the mirror down so i can c exactly where the wheel is and how far away from the curb it is, may be a pain in the arse but saved kerbing your wheels

yeah I use the mirrors all the time for parking
this was pulling out of the space. I'd parked tight to the kerb and it's a row of cars rather than a parallel park. so I was at the end turning right and turned about 1/2 inch too soon because I was in a rush for football. just clipped the kerb and caught the very lip of the alloy.
I've filed it down and painted / lacquered over it. all sorted now but you can obviously still see the mark. at least it won't corrode.

Yeah I use the mirrors and move it down too when theres a tight spot!
Had a test drive with the potential new car and this automatically positions the mirror down when reverse gear is selected - pretty clever!

Not if you want to see if anyone is overtaking while you reverse round a corner?

Its only the passenger side one, the drivers one stays put.
