Damn speed cameras, speed humps and red lights make driving a bit less fun!. I wil not be alone in saying that driving has become a bit too restricted nowadays and the motorist feels that he/she is being made to pay for most road traffic accidents when its not just them to blame. They have to remember that the whole human network was built around a transport link system which is now considered an enemy.
For example the Congestion Charge, whats that all about? My dad works in the CC zone and says that there is no considerable change in traffic volume that the statistics would have you believe. No one can disprove statistically what you can see with your own eyes.
We all would love to have this: (dont deny it)
yet we cant becasue we are too restricted. Over in America they will laugh at you if you tell them that you have a 1.6 or 1.8 litre under the bonnet. They think that the Golf or whatever they call it is too small and feel no car should come with an engine smaller than 3.0 V6!
I saw a program about a Tennesee family who bought their 16 year old son a Jeep Cherokee as his first car beacuse it is "safe"
Isn't it all very odd if you sit down and think about it. I have had a lot of time at home to sit and reflect during this snowy spell philosophising about the inequalities a motorist has to endure. Sorry if I have gone in too deep here I know some might not agree, feel free to express your views. I had to let it all out

It's simple, the congestion charge is a way for the government to make more money! There was a rumour going around that Ken Livingston changed the phasing of the traffic lights, to make it seem like the congestion charge was doing something. (Which he wants to extend).
Some people say it works, some don't.

I know what you mean though about having a faster car, although not a rally car on the road, would need £1000’s spent a month Saying that wouldn’t mind an RS200.

The American's can have big V8's as their petrol is very cheap out there, 30p compared to our 80p odd? But don't worry if we are frowned upon by them, we can make cars that do something theirs don't, HANDLE! (apart from the new GT40) A lot of 1.8's might surprise a big V8 too.

Even the bus and train fares have gone up. Bottom line is everything is going to go up and driving (including the test) is going to get harder

Most of the partners I work with have offices within the congestion zone, and they all sing its praises. Example: was with one last week. Came out of a meeting at Waterloo at about 6pm. He suggested it'd be quicker to get a cab to St. Pancras than the tube -- he was right!!! Wouldn't have been a possibility before CC came along.

The CC's supposed to have made life really bad for those just outside the edge of it, though. Ken's solution -- extend the zone!

BTW, I'm *so* hoping the GTI has a kit that at least resembles the Super1600 in some way. That would be anough to offset the lower cost and greater performance about to offered by the new Cupra Ibizas (which at the moment are my planned replacement). ARE YOU LISTENING, VW??

america isnt all about big engines.

there is a huge following of vw and honda. yes, they have massive 4.0's but, every other car is still a small car.
