Hello peeps,

Joined few days ago, been having a look around. Nice site.

Thought I might as well put some pics of my car up.

Its a Mk4 L 1.4 8v.

Spec:

BBS Alloys (not sure which, anyone know? lol )
Toyo Proxes T1-S Tyres
Front Upper Adjustable Strut Brace
Lower Adjustable Brace
Brembo 'MAX' Discs +
Standard Pads For Now.
Clear Side Repeaters
Clear Front Indicators
Philips Blue Vision Bulbs
Lexus Lights (soon to go as not to my taste)
Back box (again, not sure which lol) +
Few other little bits inside.

Bought it cheap last year as needed few bits done for MOT, Service, Etc.

Nothing special, just a first car. :D

Picture quality isn't the best on some as on phone.

When I got the car: (and we needed a new drive lol)

Won't post all of the Progress pics, but here are a few..

Thought would give rocker a quick going over.

New air feed and Sprayed Belt cover and Air box black.

Image

Did bit of cleaning, service (oil, oil filter, air filter, fuel filter) and few other bits inside, plus new headlight, rear shocks & 4 new tyres.

Once was finally on the road, did a few pics.

Then I realised the brakes was rubbish so brought some Brembo MAX Discs with standard pads for now:

After a cleaning session:

But, after that, gearbox finally gave up. Engine had 145k on it, so, we decided to get another engine too.

Got a new engine with 64k on it.

Getting old Engine out:

After a lot of Degreaser and Scrubbing:

New Engine Cleaned and Sprayed:

Transferring parts over:

Decided to order a Front Upper and Lower Brace:

Getting there:

Nearly done:

Still few little things to do due to one thing after another going wrong lol.

But hopefully not long till it is finished now.

Cheers for looking and hope I didn't bore you too much lol

Mike.

Good job on the enginebay there m8! Any pics of the lower strut brace being mounted? What brand is it? Does it get "low" or will it not form a problem with a heavily lowered car?

thanx for that m8, and for the compliments. I'm searching for a descent lower strut for some time now, yours looks quit the thing I'm looking for actually! Just wondering how low it will come, and of course how it's mounted/placed etc., wondering how it'll fit with my exhaustmanifold and airride etc. dont wanne be driving at tractor-hight do I

What's was the brand/make though?

Lol.

We wasn't sure if it fitted where it is (no instructions), had to modify it slightly (drilled new holes) touches engine so we may have a little play with that too.

Its an Ebay jobbie lol. I have seen the same one advertised as Raceland, but on the Uk Ebay they come up alot under 6n Polo.

If your Exhaust runs same route as standard prob be fine.

Couple pics: (scratched it putting engine in, oh well. lol)

Not a very level surface though!

Thanx for the pictures m8, gonna go out and measure me some ground-clearence of my mk4 :D let's see if it'll fit.

and did you mount it when the car was jacked/off the wheels? That's probable why you needed to drill new wholes, I'm guessing it's better to get it on a bridge and remount it on the wholes made by the maker, then your wheels will be forced a bit more away from eachother (it's a camber thingy) which will improve curving even more  (just a tip, no critic!)
