UK-POLOS.NET - THE VW Polo Forum

Hi there, only just signed up.
On the lookout for a MK5 (6N2?) Polo GTi, anything up to £4k, maybe a little more...
Preferably standard, but if it's on coilovers thats great (not sure how common that is round here?), reasonable mileage (<70k), black possibly? Colour isn't really an issue...
What are the kind of things to look out for? Am i right in thinking its gearbox's and pedals box's that tend to go on these?

Yeh you wanna look out for the gearboxes, they're prone to going, they have a weak 5th gear bearing (its plastic?!), the GTi also had a re-call on all pedal boxes,

Unfortunately the (amazing) modified one, which I'm a little gutted i missed out on, has sold it seems, and the other 140k one is a bit out of my mileage range... this one seems nice, but its in Scotland, bit far away! But i do appreciate you helping, hopefully one will spring up soon
