thiking of getting one as they aint that expensive at £25 all in.

Any one got a guide for fitting one

Any one bought this specific one either?

i bought one. mine is very wobbly, but a member on here did a guide to make it stable. means cutting metal and fixing it to the car chasis in the right places etc
i just lean an elbow on mine when im driving on motorways so i dont have a great use for it being 'too stable'. depends what you're after

I got mine, was wobbly, it annoyed the hell out of me.

So...

Using an power screwdriver (mini-drill), I put in 4 (around) 2-inch self-tapping screws and put them in each end of the 2 grooves you have on the bottom part of the armrest. I then put 2 of the 2-inch screws (instead of the ones you get in the pack) on the back of the armrest where you're meant to put the screws.

Now it's stable as a rock!

I believe it's the carpet I'm using to hold it (as it won't go down further due to the metal of the car), but as I have 6 big screws instead of just 2 small ones, It's holding well.

got some pics of one fitted in a polo in the normal position so i can see please

does it not get in the way of the handbrake?

I'll get some pics soon, my dad's borrowing the car while his Merc is in for long service.

Yeh it's the same one as you found on eBay. It's gone down in price since! Put it in how it tells you to, then just use the 6 self tapping screws like I said before and it will work. Only problem, when you have it in the up (outta the way) position, you can see the screws and you may find them ugly! So get black ones if you can.

It hovers above the handbrake, but its no problem. I've gotten used to the gear changes and handbrake usage with it there, and I can tell you its very comfortable and the driving position reminds me of my brother's BMW 3 series (which I love).

Anyone tried a grey one with a fabric top - and if so does it match the rest of the trim okay? (I'm sure that I will not be allowed to buy one though as I only use the wife's car at weekends). The Passat has one as standard and it's great.
