i assume you mean the old 1.8T s3 engine, its very difficult..you are best off getting the ibiza cupra block although harder to come accross, apparently it far easier to fit although i dont know why, they are practically the same engine just with a smaller turbo fitted (ko3 rather than k03s) simple to upgrade....big job though, definately worth the effort....but its big bucks

To be perfectly honest I'd think you would be better off getting an Ibiza Cupra full stop, rather than the expense and hassle of fitting the 1.8T into a Polo.

yeah i completely agree...although it would be nice to have a 300+bhp polo lol.....but there is no other reason really, both cars are practically the same weight & have the same chassis

I can understand the attraction, novelty and uniqueness of putting the 1.8T into a Polo.
But at the same time when Seat have already done the hard work and given you the ready option, I personally couldn't justify the cost of a conversion.
Which is why my next car looks to be lining up to be an Ibiza Cupra.

Reliability becomes a big issue when an engine conversion as mentioned.
We all know that the GTI is unreliable anyway, especially the gearbox.
Therefore buying a car that comes with a 1.8T from the factory make more sense.
My personal opinion is that at the end of the day it'll still be a polo.
Just buy something faster.

Yeh exactly, any massive engine conversion will probably see off any savings for your next car, so you may find yourself in a highly respectable job and/or family on the way and your stuck with your 3 door petrol eating polo!!
Would be pretty awseme tho

There was nothing wrong with Phils grammar, he spelt a word wrong...

All the posts seem to be either pretty pointless, or ask the same questions!
