My folks have got an Audi A4 cab and it's due a service now. Ive kept badgering the old man to take it to VAG Tech who I use, and I know Dino uses as well.

He finally tried them today after calling Audi first and the result of the call was...

Audi - £326.02 all in

VAG Tech - £106 all in

How the hell does that work, the service at VAG Tech is cheaper than Audi's hourly rate

It's stupid! It's the fact that people will pay that price to think they're getting "the best" service they can...

Bull! Are VAG tech one workshop? or have a few branches around?

Imo a VW dealer stamp to me says the car hasn't been treated properly, considering how rubbish most of the main dealers are. I'd rather take it to a trusted specialist

Yep. I did work experience at a VW dealership last year and my mentor went to lunch and pretty much let me complete a service on a customer car. It was fun but a 15 year old doing a service in a main dealer is a bit dodgy...

To have full vw service history or whatever dealer means nothing to me... over rated and over priced... I know a place where you didnt have to get no service done but would stamp it for a tenner.. now thats dodgy

i never go direct to Seat, i always use my local VAG specialists (they used to be Seat but lost the franchise). they are a family run business and can always help me out and usually at short notice!
they are more than happy to help Doug with his vento and Hollie with her polo.
their labour rate is around £40 an hour which is a lot cheaper than VW or Seat in my area!
