Climatronic

Guys,

I know this will probably sound like a mad idea, but has anyone tried fitting Climatronic as an aftermarket item in place of the semi-automatic system currently fitted?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... egory=9895 would give you the computer section of it, and I would expect this to be a straight replacement for the dials we already have in existence. I have this in my Passat and it helps clear the windscreen v. quickly,as well as keeping me comfy. May need VAG-Com to amend the ECU?

Having only just got the car today, I haven't done much more than rack up a few miles to get the feel for it.

Have I been sniffing to much of the funny stuff

VERY interesting topic Sadgeek.

To be honest I have no idea though. I believe the Climate controls are about £250 and thats assuming its a straight fit-in job. I would certainly look nice though, more blue glow in the cabin 8)

well the main diference between normal A/C and climatronic is that you just punch in a temp and it stay there so as long as there arnt any servos that need to be installed to control the valves that usually are controled by the dials. other wise on the wireing front i should think its all there
