This ebay seller seems to have a FIS display and a climatronic
http://search.ebay.co.uk/_W0QQdfspZ1QQf ... Zbora19tdi
in his auctions
I have read the previous posts to climatic to climatronic and it sort of died away I really want to do this mod and am wondering if it is just a straight change? if anyone has any pictures of them doing it or something? I have elsawin so will check that out now
cheers guys
Below is the pin outs from elsawin so guess it is not compatable unless some severe engineering is done

Have a look at the parts for the 2 systems, looks like they are different especially the heater unit due to additional flap motors in the climatronic system.

Elsawin is VW's workshop manuals in digital form. So the ones that you can buy from ebay will be copies of back-up discs - but they are very helpful - would be even better I think if they were legal registered copies as then you could check up some of the archived "fixes".
Upgrading Climatic to Climatronic - well any thing is possible but this mod would probably cost £1000 (I'm guessing) as there is no easy way of doing this. One system is just a heater with control of the water flow through the matrix + a chiller, the other is an integrated full function A/C unit - with that comes control of air direction/distribution - ie flap motors and not just manual bowden cable air divertors - sorry!!
Once the car is a few years old you will be smuggly pleased that you did not specify Climatronic as changing the ever failing flap motors seems to be a diy bit of a pain, or a garage wallet wrecker. My Passat is telling me it wants one - maybe some day, luckily the Polo has not reached this stage yet!
