What a day

i started work at 8am this morning and was in a+e at 11.30!
i was bitten by a dog (i work in a vets)and my bosses weren't sure if i needed stitches. so my mum drove me to a+e in our car (she works at the same place as me). we joined the queue but then decided to go to our other local a+e because the queue is usually shorter.
so we head out to the car and a woman a few cars away shouts, "is that your car?"
we turn to look at our car and there is a huge dint in the drivers door which progresses into the rear door.

turns out some man in a renault van had reversed in, hit it and drove to another car park space a few rows away so we didn't know who it was. the woman gave us her details as a witness and i went back in to re-join the queue.
mum left a note on the van an chris came down with his camera to take some photos of the damage. then mum came in and 3 hours after arriving i was seen. turns out i didn't need stitches but the puncture wound was very deep. so they dressed it and sent me back to work with antibiotics.
so we go out to the car and we still haven't heard anything from the van man but the piece of paper we left him has gone. so assuming (by his company paperwork on the passenger seat) that he may have been working on one of the building sites we investigate with no luck. then just as we are leaving the hospital we get a call off him. apparently he left the handbrake off and rolled in to us (as if...theres far too much damage just for that)

so now we await another call from him with his insurance details.

i was more distressed about the car than my bite wound!

i turned to chris in the waiting room and the only thing i could say was..."how dare he put his renault paint onto my dub!"

Stace thats awfull!!!

Although you are VERY lucky that someone saw that and you managed to find out who did that.

What a complete and utter NOBJOCKEY that bloke is though to try to get away with it. Glad you managed to catch him. I know how I'd feel if it was my car and the bloke had legged it

I believe (correct me if i am wrong) they were a factory optional upgrade to standard alloys for a 9n?

There are a few members on here that have them (in their traditional form).

managed to get hold of the guy last night eventually. he was insistent we didn't go through the insurance as he had "10 years no claims". but we said no way! if anything were to happen we'd have no come back eg if he wouldnt pay the body shop.
so mums been sorting the insurance all day
as for my face...it looks disgusting and i have to redress it for work for the rest of the week. it hurts like hell and i cant chew on that side of my mouth!
but i still went and talked to the dog that did it when i got back to work yesterday!

like my new wheels ;) I love them!!!

Glad its getting sorted Stace.

Too right about going through the insurance too. After what he did trying to get away with it he doesn't deserve you doing any favours for him  .

Oh yeah, glad your alright too Stacey :P

Chris: At least he didn't hit the wheels, now that would have been annoying :x

Hate people like that!!

Thats why I get so paranoid parking in busy car parks,

I prefer to stay well away from anybody, in case of incidents like that, esp. when some poepl try and get away with it!!! :x

its all fixed-ish
the body shop forgot to put the seal back on the door, which i'm waiting for them to come and do any minute. and they have a few paint issues to resolve, but then hopefully all will be well.
only problem is..the drivers side doors are now much shinier than the rest!
hope the weather cheers up soon so i can give it a bit of a clean!!!
