hey there guys,
i thought i would put up a thread to show you progress on my 9n.
Ok so i own a 54 plate, diamond black 5 door 9n with a 1.2 litre engine. I have owned the car for about two years and had it pretty much standard with only mod bein my stereo.
being a skint student meant i never had the money to build the car i had pictured in my head...but FINALLY

...i have managed to save up the cash so at last......project PO-LOW is going ahead!
heres a picture of my car at the moment (sorry bout the quality!

)
Its nothing special but soon i will be fitting:
- Fully adjustable coilovers with maximum lowering of 120mm...I'm not going to be able to go THAT low

but i'll be going as low as sensibly possible which will probably be about an 80mm drop all round
- 8" x 15" Compomotive TH monos, 5x100 et25 with 195/45 tyres
- Full custom made Powerflow stainless steel exhaust system
Depending on how low i go i will most probably get my arches rolled all round and potentially fitting 25mm spacers on the rear to give a wider staggered stance.
I'm also doing few other bits like removing rear wiper, fittting bee-sting aerial and spraying the badges, filler cap and front grill matt black.
Just waiting for the weather to get a bit nicer then things should start coming together. Should be finished before UltimateDubs on march 9th. Will keep you posted on any further progress.
Thanks for reading and i welcome any comments bout my plans
cheers
Ali

mateee, what coilovers are they ... i need to get some with that mm potential ... sounds asif your cars gonna be awesome, reply me or pm or sumfin, i need to know, im mena b ordering wheels n stuff next week, btw, im no expert, but you may get away with just rolling, but if you want the staggered look, keep with the rolled arches thang, n then flare the rear arches a tad, it is the cherry on top ov the tasty staggered look cake

Really sorry to pee on your parade mate but the wheels WILL NOT work with those tyres and a 25mm spacer. A 10mm spacer would be more appropriate as a 25mm will make them et0!!!
Rubbing wont be the word!
Ive got mono's in 16x8 et25 on mine and they sit proud of the arch already!
As far as rolling your arches, well theres nothing there to roll
A mate of mine has his own bodyshop and has had a good look at my arches for me. He did say they could be teased outwards a few mm but its a lot of work for the little extra room it will give you!
You'll have problems with your front ARB if your going as low as 80, basicly it rubs the drivers side driveshaft and sounds horrific! I removed mine altogether.
More or less its exactly the same spec as my car althogh mine's a 1.4 16v and has 16x8" monos in black
I really dont want to put you off at all as your plans sound good, but having been there and tried it myself (at the time there was no one to ask about stuff like this concerning the 9n so I had to find out through trial and error!) it just wont work!
Good luck to ya though and if I can help with any questions youve got feel free to fire me a pm
Oh and a photay because im a shameless pic whore

thanks so much for the comments guys...just need it to go ahead! (jst waitin 4 mr.sunshine to appear! lol

)
thanks for your help pidge87...
the 25mm spacers were just an idea but i will most probably just leave it without them if its going to cause too much grief! And how low is your car? i'm not defo going for 80mm...i just want it as low as i can sensibly go! lol

haha
and the wheels i'm going for are the winter editions in silver but i want to get them polished for edition38 in august...shud look SICK haha
Will definitely keep you all up to date with progress on my car.
Cheers everyone

the hand sticker is JDM AFAIK
however, after looking for shocker sticker I found a whole new world!
